TOWN HALL MEETING, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH FROM 7 P.M. TO 9 P.M. AT AMY BEVERLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO DISCUSS A COVENANT AMENDMENT TO RESTRICT LEASING

Over the past few years, institutional and private investors have aggressively been making cash offers for homes in our area, including GHPOA homes. These investors have turned these homes into short-and long-term rental properties. Our governing documents contain no provisions to restrict leasing.

Frequently, the exterior appearance of leased homes are not maintained to the same standard as owner-occupied property. This has a negative impact on the property value of surrounding homes. In addition, short-term rentals, which are often used for events or party pads, have resulted in noise complaints, trash, vandalism, parking problems, traffic congestion, and even police intervention.

GHPOA property owners have and are experiencing ongoing problems with both short- and long-term rental properties.

At last night’s Annual Meeting the Board announced a Proposed Covenant Amendment to restrict leasing in GHPOA.

In the next 7 to 10 days, you will receive a mailing with complete information on the proposed covenant amendment.

A Town Hall Meeting will be held at Amy Beverland Elementary School, 11650 Fox Road, on Tuesday, February 11th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to discuss this critical issue.

We urge you to attend and participate in this extremely important discussion.
