Ban on Hunting On or Around Geist Reservoir…
As announced, the Cities of Indianapolis and Fishers have signed an agreement with CEG banning hunting on or around Geist Reservoir. The major boat launch area for Geist Reservoir is the Olio Road boat launch ramp which is located in Hamilton County. GHPOA residents seeing hunters or hearing gunshots should contact Hamilton County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 317-773-1282. Residents may also call Geist Patrol at 317-842-8082.
GHPOA residents seeing deer hunters in the area by the Geist Reservoir dam should immediately contact Geist Patrol at 317-842-8082.
Since this no hunting ban was recently enacted, it will take time to coordinate enforcement and educate hunters.
